Assistant Professor of Department of Political Science, Cairo. Hamad
joined the Drake Faculty in the fall of 2008. He received his Ph.D.
from the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah
and his B.A. and M.A. in political science from Cairo University,
Egypt. His teaching and research interests focus on Middle East
politics, comparative judicial politics, civil-military relations as well
as religion and politics. Hamad is the co-editor of Elections and democratizationin the Middle East, Palgrave Macmillan, 2014.
